services

located in the heart of central North Carolina, we take pride in our craftsmanship and dedication to quality.

what we do

we make cast iron feel like a dream to cook on. shop our already-polished pans or send us your own piece to be polished. we also take select pieces by request.

two ways to get a pan you'll love

1) ready-to-cook, already polished
purchase a brand new, polished pan from our store or browse our current inventory on eBay for unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. each piece is polished and ready to become your weeknight workhorse.

2) mail-in polishing (your pan, our finish)
ship us your skillet, griddle, Dutch oven, or other cast iron cookware. we’ll polish the cooking surface to a smooth finish and send it back looking and performing like new.

SEND-in polishing:
how it works

step 1: request a quote
fill out our "start your restoration" form. send clear photos, the maker/size (if known), and a quick note on condition. we’ll confirm pricing and get your process started.

step 2: pack & ship
wrap your piece snugly with plenty of padding so it can’t move in the box. include your name, return address, and email/phone.

step 3: we polish
we carefully smooth the cooking surface while respecting the piece’s character and maker’s marks whenever possible.

step 4: return & care
we ship your piece back and include straightforward care tips so you can season and use it with confidence.

shipping tips
  • pack tight so the item cannot shift in the box.

  • use sturdy padding (bubble wrap/cardboard sleeves) around the cooking surface and handle.

  • include a card with your contact info and return address inside the box.

  • keep the tracking number when you ship it!

FAQs

is it safe to cook on these pans after they've been polished?
yes! when you order one of our cast iron cookware items for the purpose of cooking, the item is sanded ONLY! we do NOT use any chemicals on any of our items unless you specify that the item you're purchasing is for artistic purposes. if you would like to purchase an item for display or other artistic purposes, we will happily finish the product with a polishing compound that may not always be safe for consumption. if you have further questions, please contact us.

do you season the pan after polishing?
your piece will arrive clean and ready for you to season at home. even though we will clean your piece, we still highly recommend that you clean it again once you receive it.

can you remove heavy rust or buildup?
yes. polishing addresses typical rust and buildup. deep pitting or damage may remain visible (it's part of the character & charm); we’ll advise you up front.

what about cracks or structural repairs?
if we spot issues that make polishing a bad idea, we’ll let you know before work begins. we don’t take on structural repair/welding.

how long does it take?
lead times vary with workload and the item’s condition. You’ll get an estimate with your quote.

do you work on carbon steel?
sometimes. send photos and details, and we’ll confirm if we can take it on and price it accordingly.
